Today's two things + a weekend wish

Item 1. If you've got some cash

  • The Chicago Street Vendor Relief Fund is almost halfway to their goal of raising $300k to provide emergency support for vendors who are losing their livelihoods. ➡️ Please donate here if you can.
  • Victoria, who is from Honduras and has lived in Trenton for three years, is expecting her fifth child today (via induction). Her husband is currently detained in NJ's notorious Delaney Hall and is scheduled for deportation within a few weeks. From a friend: She's determined to get a job to support herself and her children, but with an infant and four children she's anxious about how to get through the next few months. As soon as she feels well enough I plan to connect her with Arm in Arm which helps with rent, jobs and groceries...Victoria could use a "village." ➡️ Share a "birthday/birth day" gift via GoFundMe.

Item 2. If you've got some time

...and if you meet the criteria, consider becoming a notary public. Inspired by a couple of friends, I recently completed my application and look forward to offering the service free of charge to folks who need it for name changes, custody-related paperwork in case of emergencies, etc. ➡️ Start with this Wikihow page or search online for the process in your home state.
