Movement history
Connecting dots:
- From Progressive.org, a longer read about activists deported during McCarthy era, and
- Breaking (to me) news via Bluesky about the detention of Mohsen Mahdawi, another Columbia student and green card holder.

Mutual aid
If you're in the position to help out financially:
- Aurora was my cousin's friend. Their kids are close. If you are able to help a family in North Carolina, please take a look at this GoFundMe. (Warning: domestic violence.)
- "We want to get money and resources directly to Palestinians in Gaza, however, as many people know, the blockade has made it almost impossible to get cash and resources into Gaza. One way that is possible is getting people eSims."
*I mentioned last week that I was volunteering in the local elementary school library, running the school book fair. We tried a new vendor called Literati – a small business that offers an alternative to the giant Scholastic – and (recognizing this is very niche) I'm happy to connect with any librarian, teacher, or school community member who'd like to hear about the experience. Overall it was very positive.
**Still can't believe this sometimes.
