It's a sign! Wednesday's three things

Here's this week's art fix, since I was out canvassing yesterday and didn't make it.

Item 1. Suggestion

Are you making a protest sign this week? Monica Trinidad has advice (starting around the 14:15 mark in How to Make Art for Social Change on YouTube):

Create a focal point. It's your duty as the artist to tell the viewer what the most important part of your art is. You can do that through literally making your message the biggest part of the poster or through certain colors, contrast, scale. My partner is a graphic designer and they're always teaching me that design is actually about making info accessible, and communicating a message. [...] If you're making art for a community protest or a rally or an action, you want your poster to be seen across the street. You want that message to be crystal clear in that poster. No more than five, six words max, depending on how big.

Item 2. Feels like art to me!

Bluesky post with a photo of a coffee shop door. Two signs are taped on it. Top, a flyer that reads "Hello New Yorkers!! If Cuomo gets elected, we will double our prices. No joke." Below, a flyer about costs that rose in NY when Cuomo was governor.
Via Bluesky (Image description in alt text, as always.)

Item 3. Artists using their platforms
